Overview
Do you want to build an impactful career to change the world for the better? Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Civil/Environmental Engineer or Principal Geologist to join our Geoenvironmental and Remediation practice in Columbus or Cleveland, Ohio.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.
- You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.
- Developing remedial strategies and site-specific closure strategies;
- Managing complex site investigation and remediation implementation efforts for a variety of project sites;
- Managing challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management;
- Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to facilitate repeat business;
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Management and mentoring of early career staff and managing subcontractors;
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, or a related field. (required)
- Advanced degree in earth science, environmental engineering, or a related field. (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.), if applicable. (required)
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required. Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
