The Role
The Principle Financial Analyst – Global Development Finance supports the leadership and management of the franchise R&D Financial Planning and Analysis function. This includes facilitating the quarterly Line-by-Line (LBE) process with R&D groups, providing allocated program headcount and cost analysis for portfolio prioritization decisions, and managing the month-end close process.
Responsibilities
- Supports the product development and strategic planning forecast of the pipeline analysis.
- Facilitates the Franchise quarterly LBE process with the R&D groups.
- Provides allocated program headcount and cost analysis to facilitate portfolio prioritization decisions.
- Owns the franchise cost center's month-end close to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Prepares monthly close packages with spending performance including variance analysis and drivers.
- Presents with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business opportunities and new products, by modeling alternative financial scenarios and conducting NPV/IRR and sensitivity analyses.
- Owns the franchise allocated headcount roll forward of actual vs. LBE year-end budget headcount.
- Designs, develops, and publishes financial dashboards to track program performance, productivity metrics, and KPIs.
- Takes initiative to identify non-routine process improvement opportunities and works with the team to execute improvements.
- Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel. May lead a project team.
- Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects.
Requirements
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or equivalent in planning and quantitative analysis function.
- Strong Excel skills and enterprise system skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to lead projects, influence, and engage others to accomplish projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Qualifications
- Equivalent experience is defined as six years’ combined experience in the above areas.
Benefits
