Principal Experience Designer

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Experience Designer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will shape scalable AI interaction patterns and design standards across a broad product ecosystem. The ideal candidate will help define how users experience intelligent features, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and responsible design. You will also partner closely with product, engineering, and AI research stakeholders to influence decisions that impact the broader platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Define interaction patterns for the company's assistant experience that integrate across the product ecosystem
• Create and maintain a scalable pattern library for consistent AI experiences
• Elevate the standard for quality and responsible AI interactions within the program
• Mentor designers on the platform team and support others implementing assistant features
• Collaborate with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and AI Research to shape design decisions

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in UX design, product design, or a related field
• Expertise in human-centered design applied to complex problems
• Clear viewpoint on high-quality AI experiences with practical skills to support it
• Experience designing systems and interaction patterns for other teams to adopt
• Proven track record of shipping generative AI experiences with measurable impact
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in evolving requirements
• AI-native practice using tools like ChatGPT and similar in daily work
• Proficiency in Figma and adaptable to various prototyping tools
• Experience mentoring designers and enhancing team abilities
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
