The salary range for this position is based on experience level ranging from $128,000 to $160,000 plus up to 16% bonus.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for executing on comprehensive needs and solutions assessments to address a wide range of T&S reliability and infrastructure needs. This position is expected to develop internal staff, collaborate across organizations, and lead external (consulting) resources across a wide-range of utility disciplines (P&C, Engineering, etc.) in the pursuit of project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic and Technical Leadership: Provides strategic leadership and collaboration with teams working across multiple operating companies and geographic locations. Initiates, leads, collaborates or advises on a broad range of highly complex multi-disciplinary issues across electric Networks business areas such as Asset Management, T&S project technical review, System Topology design, Reliability and Resiliency, Equipment Standardization, Equipment Ratings, and Protection & Control. Provides leadership and facilitates collaborative decision making.
- Communicate, influence and motivate: Use of excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management to inform and influence others, providing strategic input for business plans and decision making.
- Serves as a witness on a broad range of regulatory and technical issues to advance business objectives (ISO’s, siting council, PUC’s, etc.). Represent AVANGRID in national and regional forums.
- Predict needs, direct the development of solutions: Initiate studies/activities required to identify issues and system needs, evaluate threats/opportunities, define and prioritize system-wide solutions based on risk, value and implementation complexity.
- Regional Strategy & Regulatory: Represents company interests before regional and regulatory bodies. Provides strategic guidance and support on complex regulatory and technical issues. Assists executive and other senior leaders in identifying and managing risks, opportunities and business uncertainty driven from such things as changes in the industry (regulatory, process, forecasts) and projects/ growth endeavors under consideration. Provides input into the development of processes and strategies for the business unit that reflect knowledge of national, regional, and local dockets, orders and regulations. Anticipates impacts of legislative and regulatory changes to tariffs, investment rate recovery and business strategies and plans.
- Represent AVANGRID in national and regional forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering or related.
- An advanced education such as an MBA and/or a Professional Engineering License is a plus.
- 10+ years of practical experience and working knowledge across a broad range of T&D Power Systems including planning, engineering, construction or operations.
- T&S Power Systems – Practical Knowledge: Planning, Design, Operations, & Maintenance (e.g. power systems, civil, structural, construction, etc.).
- Applicable Design Codes and Criteria (Knowledge & Use): In-depth understanding of internal/external codes & criteria (e.g. NESC, ASCE, AGR TM’s, etc.) and their application to existing “brownfield” and/or new “greenfield” facilities.
- Regional & Regulatory Requirements & Constraints: In-depth understanding of project cost recovery mechanisms (NE - PTF regionalization & NY - Rate Case), documentation requirements, Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) laws/regulations, and AVANGRID’s IP Process.
- Communicating/Influencing & Engineering Documentation: Understanding and conveying ideas clearly and convincingly. Includes Written, Verbal, Presentation Development. Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation, review and approve engineering work done by others.
- Team Management: Ability to lead, and be accountable for, internal and external (consulting) staff toward a common goal. Includes the ability to organize, schedule, and lead a team toward the successful completion of commitments.
