Principal Engineer, Supply Chain
About the role
The Principal Engineer, Supply Chain position at MACHINE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES LLC is a 10+ months contract role with potential for extension. The role is based in Atlanta, GA and is available on a W-2 basis.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement IP&R solutions and large-scale RDBMS or Google BigQuery systems
- Develop and maintain Python, shell scripts, SQL, and PL/SQL applications
- Manage change and release processes using GitHub and CI/CD solutions
- Work with on-prem and public cloud platforms, focusing on security and Sarbanes-Oxley audits
- Conduct process reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and toil elimination efforts
- Ensure high availability, manage transaction volumes, and handle backup/recovery and disaster recovery tasks
- Support full lifecycle operations across multiple platforms and languages
- Collaborate with various teams including Infrastructure, Network, Development, Product, and Business Partners
- Provide technical solutions for production issues and recommend improvements
- Utilize streaming technologies such as STRIIM, Kafka, and Pub/Sub for data processing
Requirements
- Master's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience as an architect or Principal engineer
- 10+ years of experience in IP&R solutions or similar roles
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale RDBMS or Google BigQuery
- Experience with Python, shell scripts, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting
- Experience with Change & Release processes, GitHub, and CI/CD solutions
- Experience with on-prem and public cloud platforms
- Experience with security and Sarbanes-Oxley audits
- Experience with process reviews, continuous improvement, automation, and toil elimination
- Experience with high availability, high transaction volume environments, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery
- Strong background in full-lifecycle support across multiple platforms or languages
- Ability to interact with tech and non-tech teams
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple cross-functional teams
- Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to acquire new skills
- Strong customer service skills with high levels of professionalism
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
