Principal Engineer - Steam Turbine

About the role

Join ENTRUST's Power Generation group as a Principal Engineer focused on steam turbines, supporting engineering activities with remote and hybrid schedule options and minimal travel. ENTRUST Solutions Group Power Generation provides independent third-party engineering solutions to global power providers and plant operations, covering conventional and renewable power, compliance, plant conceptual design, operations, and maintenance.

As a key member of the Power Plant Engineering team, you will serve as the subject matter expert and company resource for steam turbine consulting projects. You will prepare for and lead client meetings, demonstrate technical expertise in turbine and generator engineering, execute projects independently, mentor younger team members, and drive technical excellence across the team. Additionally, you will assist management with business opportunities, conferences, and training sessions, and interface with industry organizations.

Travel requirement is up to 10-15% for site visits, client meetings, and conferences. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to impact the business side of the industry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert and company resource for steam turbine consulting projects.
• Prepare for and lead client meetings, demonstrating technical expertise in turbine and generator engineering.
• Execute projects independently and mentor younger team members.
• Drive technical excellence across the Power Plant Engineering team.
• Assist management with business opportunities, conferences, and training sessions.
• Interface with industry organizations.
• Travel up to 10-15% for site visits, client meetings, and conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering.
• 20+ years of demonstrated experience in steam turbine engineering at OEMs and/or utilities.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering calculations, assessments, and analyses.
• Willingness to travel as required to support projects and business development initiatives (10-15%).

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering licensure (preferred).
• Advanced degree (preferred).
