Responsibilities

  • Achieve desired technical outcomes through the direct completion of Design Control, CAPA, and Change Control (CC) project deliverables or programs within timing and budget constraints.
  • Provide technical oversight of a constantly changing portfolio impacting R&D, Operations, Quality Systems (QS), Process, Customer, or Supply Chain.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet schedule and project demands.
  • Review and approve design changes based on technical expertise, providing technical product direction for the project team.
  • Foster an environment of rigor, completeness, and compliance when participating in CAPA, CC, or Field Corrective Action (FCA) investigations/assessments.
  • Embrace accountability for critical decisions as a technical subject matter expert within cross-functional teams to drive product development deliverables (e.g., formulation development, process development, or tech transfers).
  • Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO, and IEC design control procedures and standards.
  • Create design concepts and research methodologies that best meet current and future customer and business needs for a product or process domain area.
  • Use critical thinking and teamwork to resolve competing constraints.
  • Create and maintain technical documents found in a Design History File (DHF), such as verification/validation reports, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop and execute study plans and reports.

Requirements

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline (preferably Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering) with 5+ years of proven success in a product development environment, or M.S. or Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in creating/managing design documentation and transferring products into manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Experience in prototyping, testing, and evaluating mechanical designs.
  • Skilled at written and verbal presentations within the business/technical community.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to technical projects through successful outcomes.
  • Must be self-motivated, resourceful, flexible, and a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Total Quality Management (TQM), statistical methods, problem analysis and resolution, materials science, and design of experiments.

Schedule

Baxter supports flexibility in the workplace through a flexible workplace policy, which includes a required minimum number of days a week onsite. This policy is subject to local laws and legal requirements and may be adjusted at Baxter’s discretion.

Pay

The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 to $154,000 annually. Individual pay is based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
