About the role
As a technical subject matter expert, you will assess instrument calibrations against engineering and user requirements, provide hands-on and formal training for calibration, engineering, and end users, and actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to patients and customers. Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert bridging gaps between calibration evaluations for entry into the CMS and end-user or engineering-defined specifications.
- Develop or revise existing calibration procedures.
- Provide high-level technical expertise in Out of Tolerance investigations, CAPAs, root cause analysis, in-depth troubleshooting, and implementing appropriate actions.
- Deliver hands-on and formal training for calibration technicians, site services, and end users.
- Serve as a management backup for electronic systems (e.g., CMMS, CMS, Ereq, Trackwise), including reviewing and approving calibration documentation and work orders.
- Drive the BIAH calibration group change control process by collaborating with end users, engineering, maintenance, and vendors to upgrade obsolete instrumentation or identify more suitable alternatives.
- Perform calibrations during shutdowns, technician leaves, or to avoid production schedule interruptions.
- Contribute to assigned team projects, such as the BIgCAL program or new processes moving into the plant.
- Ensure all work adheres to cGxP guidelines and BIVI safety programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 10 years of experience in calibration, PLC, and microprocessor fields, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Well-established background in performing hands-on work and creating formal training plans.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
