Principal Engineer- OEM Products

Job Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, Develop, Verify and Validate product designs and engineering solutions to meet defined OEM customer user needs.
• Pitch new business, lead technical discussions and serve as a lead technical advisor on key strategic opportunities.
• Develop project plans and assist with design input definition.
• Affirm project timelines and ensure projects are kept within scope, time and cost.
• Inform internal and external customers of project status.
• Develop and present solution proposals to external customers and commercial teams.
• Maintain interactions with other departments to solicit and distribute information.
• Recommend and participate in functional training to advance technical capabilities and stay current with manufacturing and engineering methods.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers for overall project success.
• Provide technical problem-solving expertise to diverse functions including marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality, and customer support.
• Address Customer Feedback / Complaints and Corrective Actions where needed.
• Engage in cost reduction efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 15+ years’ product development and design transfer experience
• Project management skills allowing engagement on multiple projects
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience
• Ability to perform complex FEA analysis
• Proficiency in Injection molding, extrusion, sheet metal, and casting design
• Proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill PDM system
• Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Office, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) software
• Familiarity with design for healthcare environments (ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1) a major plus
