Principal Engineer – LV Switchgear (US)
About the Role
Reporting to the Global Head of R&D - Service, Software & Metering, the Principal Engineer – LV Switchgear (US) will act as the technical authority for the North American LV Switchgear portfolio, providing strategic leadership and governance across the full product lifecycle of products such as LV Switchgear, RPP, and PDUs.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Technical Authority for the North American LV Switchgear Portfolio
- Own technical decisions, engineering standards, governance, and product architecture
- Ensure Compliance and Technical Risk Management
- Provide leadership on UL, NEC, IEEE, and related standards while managing technical compliance and product risks
- Provide Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
- Act as the senior technical interface for Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, customers, and certification bodies
- Define and Drive Product Strategy & Roadmaps
- Partner with Product Management to shape future product platforms, technology direction, and competitive positioning
- Support grid-to-rack and data center power distribution strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- 10+ Years' Experience in LV Switchgear Engineering, including design, manufacturing, or technical leadership
- Deep Expertise in UL Low Voltage Switchgear
- Strong knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558
- Proven Technical Leadership
- Ability to act as a recognized subject matter expert and make critical engineering decisions
- Strong Systems Engineering & Problem-Solving Capability
- Experience resolving complex customer, manufacturing, and field issues
