Northrop Grumman’s Western Region Space Sector is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented individual to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA, as a Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 3). This position is 100% onsite and does not accommodate telecommute or hybrid work. This role is distinguished from a standard facilities engineering position by its emphasis on simultaneous project management and forecasting, extensive coordination with programs and stakeholders, risk mitigation, implementation of company and site standards, management of schedule milestones, and use of historical data to drive successful project execution. Responsibilities In this role, you will: Manage the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering through commissioning and closeoutGather and evaluate requirements, technical data, blueprints, and reportsDevelop statements of work (SOWs), budget forecasts, rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates, and schedule forecastsReview submittals, methods of procedure (MOPs), requests for information (RFIs), change orders (COs), and other construction-related documentationDetermine facility and equipment specifications in alignment with program and site needsReview and estimate all phases of facility design and constructionDesign and oversee implementation of facility expansions, layouts, building systems, and quality controlsPrepare and manage the bid process for design and construction servicesCollaborate daily with vendors, maintenance teams, and cross-functional partnersCoordinate and oversee contractors performing construction and installation activitiesInspect, or direct the inspection of, construction progress to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and schedulesEnsure compliance with applicable regulations, building codes, health and safety standards, and security requirementsPrepare technical reports and compliance documentationDevelop and deliver presentations to senior leadership on project status, risks, and recommendations Desired Attributes The Successful Candidate Will Be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a valued member of a teamThrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentCommunicate clearly and proactively with leadership and building occupants regarding updates, risks, delays, and emerging issuesPropose well-considered solutions and alternatives before seeking guidanceBe willing to escalate and ask for help when neededProvide constructive feedback on current processes and help drive more efficient approachesBe onsite evenings or weekends as required for critical project activities (crane lift, power outages, etc.) and available to respond to Teams messages or calls during evenings and weekends for high-visibility construction projectsEffectively manage 15 or more concurrent projects of varying complexity and costDemonstrate strong teamwork skills and collaborate effectively with multiple groups across campus, including coordinating overlapping projects led by other Facilities Engineers Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of project management and/or construction experience; or a Master’s Degree with 3 years of project management and/or construction experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated project management and problem-solving skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret and SCI clearance Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction ManagementFacilities engineering experience in a complex, multi-building environmentCertifications: CCM, PMP, OSHA 10-Hour, etc.Current active Top Secret or SCI (SSBI) clearance Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
