About the role

As a Principal Engineer at T-Mobile, you will lead, design, build, and deploy scalable software solutions that meet customer needs and support highly available systems. You will collaborate with other engineers to develop modern software components using technologies and concepts like system design, virtualization, software-defined networking, network functions virtualization, and big data. This role involves solving complex technical problems and guiding software design decisions to deliver reliable, well-integrated solutions aligned with business goals and technical requirements. You will drive innovation, advocate for agile methodologies, and promote transparency while advancing T-Mobile’s capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and validation of network systems to maximize reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and presentations to communicate design benefits to diverse audiences
• Drive engineering projects by applying techniques, conducting tests, and supervising engineering teams to meet objectives
• Analyze and implement technology improvements to optimize network processes and support business requirements
• Monitor industry technologies and standards to inform design decisions and influence organizational technology strategies
• Evaluate new and existing technologies to align with business goals and support network evolution
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned by business management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 7 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 5 years of related experience (Required)
• Acceptable areas of study include Engineering/Computer Science (Required)
• 7-10 years of technical engineering experience (Required)
• Telecom Billing Domain experience (Preferred)
• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Travel required

Pay

Base pay range: $118,200 - $213,200. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience. Most Corporate employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and/or individual performance, set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
