About the role

At Databricks, we enable data teams to solve the world's toughest problems—from security threat detection to cancer drug development—by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform. The Trust & Safety team ensures customers can trust Databricks with their most valuable data. As a senior leader, you will craft and execute a long-term vision for Authentication, balancing uncompromised security with a frictionless user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute a north-star vision for Authentication that balances security and user experience.
  • Recruit and mentor top-tier engineering talent to scale our security infrastructure.
  • Act as the voice of Security Engineering across the organization, driving data-driven decisions at the executive level.
  • Represent Databricks’ security innovations at major academic and industry conferences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas, with expertise in two or more of the following: Authentication, Network, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
  • 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
  • Leadership skills to lead across functional and organizational lines.
  • Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
  • Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a plus.
  • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.

This role is open to remote candidates.

Pay

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The local pay range for this role is $280,000—$385,000 USD. Actual compensation is based on factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and location. The total compensation package may also include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
