We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects for the Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for our clients. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes.

About the role

You will apply AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework while demonstrating technical credibility across diverse stakeholders. You will distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make informed trade-off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact. With strong technology and program/project management experience, you will validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks.

As you progress, you’ll lead increasingly complex technical projects, shape cross-organizational technical strategies, and establish best practices in your domain. You will also apply management and leadership capabilities to execute project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, providing assistance through offerings that help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver focused guidance through global specialty practices covering a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects
  • Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning
  • Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating engineering discussions and ensuring alignment with customer business outcomes
  • Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements and map them to business outcomes
  • Decompose complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions
  • Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards

Requirements

  • 8+ years of cloud computing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field
  • Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA)
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
  • Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and identifying relationships between business services, information, applications, and global infrastructure assets
  • Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in pre-sales environments
  • Advanced degree in technology or AWS Professional level certification
  • Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape

  • USA, CA, San Francisco: $210,100 - $284,300 USD annually
  • USA, IL, Chicago: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
  • USA, NJ, Jersey City: $201,000 - $271,900 USD annually
  • USA, NY, New York: $201,000 - $271,900 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Dallas: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Houston: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $182,700 - $247,200 USD annually
