The AWS Professional Services team is a global group of experts who assist customers in achieving their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to implement enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our offerings help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption, and we provide focused guidance through our global specialty practices, covering various solutions, technologies, and industries.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leading and managing complex cloud migration and implementation projects
  • Leveraging comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning
  • Bridging business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating engineering discussions and ensuring alignment with customer business outcomes
  • Distingushing customer needs into clear technical requirements and mapping them to business outcomes
  • Decomposing complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions
  • Contributing to technical documentation and defining documentation standards

About the role

The AWS Professional Services team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Principal Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. This role requires combining technical expertise with strong project leadership skills to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for clients. The EM will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. They will apply AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, demonstrating technical credibility across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of cloud computing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years experience in project management of technical programs
  • 8+ years experience with software development life cycle (SDLC); Waterfall/Agile/iterative methodologies
  • Experience leveraging GenAI for project management and agile methodologies on enterprise level engagements
  • AWS experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices
  • Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior technical decision-makers
  • Managed and delivered IT and Transformation engagements for a Fortune 100 company
  • Work experience in any of the industries such as Financial Services (Banking/Insurance), Automotive, Telecommunications, Health Care & Life Sciences, Energy, Media & Entertainment, Manufacturing
