This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, and an active and existing security clearance is required after day one.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join the Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer. The department designs, develops, and supports land and sea-based radar systems. We are seeking a unique engineer to enhance the sustainability of our current radar products, with experience in legacy radar hardware and software technologies. The ideal candidate will transition these products to current technologies while maintaining, troubleshooting, and patching deployed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support sustainment of legacy radar systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and patching.
  • Port legacy Unix and VxWorks software to modern Linux systems or identify replacements.
  • Support software integration, testing, and verification.

This is a 1st shift, 100% onsite role based in Marlborough, MA.

Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Embedded C/C++ and/or Ada software development experience.
  • Experience developing on VxWorks and Linux/Unix platforms.

We Prefer

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or ClearCase.
  • Experience in shell scripting (e.g., Bash or C Shell).
  • Experience working with VME bus-based systems.
  • Radar domain experience.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
