About the Role

A product development and engineering consultancy in Wilmington, MA is hiring a full-time, hybrid Principal Electrical Engineer Manager to lead the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices, robotics systems, and embedded electronics. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, working with technologies including embedded systems, PCB design, firmware development, microcontrollers, and electronic system architecture. You'll help shape product architecture, mentor engineers, drive projects from concept through commercialization, and work on innovative technologies that have a real-world impact.

Responsibilities

• 35% Embedded Systems & Firmware Development
• 30% PCB Design & Electronic Hardware Development
• 20% System Architecture & Technical Leadership
• 15% Project Support, Client Interaction & Team Management

Daily breakdown:

• 60% Hands-on engineering work
• 20% Management duties
• 20% Team collaboration

Requirements

• 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• PCB design experience using Altium, Cadence, Allegro, OrCAD, or similar tools
• Experience with ARM, Cortex, STM32, PIC, or similar microcontrollers
• Familiarity with SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet protocols
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers
• Product development experience

Desired Qualifications

• Previous engineering leadership or management experience

• Client-facing consulting experience
