About the role
Renesas is seeking Senior Level Analog IC Designers to join our Rad Hard IC design team in RTP, NC or PB, FL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing Analog and mixed-signal ICs in Precision Analog and Power Management applications. As a design team member, you will design innovative, high-performance, highly profitable products targeted toward Space markets, including state-of-the-art ultra-low quiescent current 40V to 100V DC-DC switching converters, LDOs, and multi-function power management circuits.
Responsibilities
- Participate in product definition working with marketing, applications, and customers.
- Apply in-depth understanding of power process technologies to design innovative power management products.
- Perform transistor-level design of mixed-signal circuits for new and derivative power management products.
- Manage programs to achieve schedule objectives.
- Validate and debug products before transferring to production engineering.
- Interface with process, test, product, application, and marketing teams to bring new products from concept through release to production.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of integrated analog circuit design.
- Thorough understanding of bipolar, BiCMOS, and BCD process technologies and circuit design techniques.
- Thorough understanding of large power transistor (bipolar and DMOS) design, layout, and robustness.
- Thorough understanding of various switch-mode power conversion topologies (BOOST & BUCK, control methods, multi-phase current sharing, etc.).
- Experience with Cadence tools for analog design and mixed-signal simulations.
- Experience with behavioral top-level modeling and mixed-signal verification methodology.
- Experience with analog/digital interfaces and digital buses.
- Experience with Radiation Hardened power management products (highly desirable).
- Experience with gate driver techniques.
- Understanding of control systems.
- Highly self-motivated and adaptable.
Qualifications
MSEE with 10+ years or PhD with 8+ years (or BSEE with 15+ years) of relevant industry experience with a strong background in analog design and a proven record of successfully released Power Management products.
