About the role

A global medical technology leader is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their R&D department dedicated to developing new products for both capital and disposable medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced hardware design in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams
  • Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day remote
  • 45% Design and analysis of electrical/electronic systems
  • 45% PCB and subsystem development
  • 10% Regulatory and compliance review
  • Hands On 80%
  • Management Duties 5%
  • Team Collaboration 15%

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry or similar
  • Hands-on expertise with schematic design tools (Altium preferred)
  • Deep familiarity with common electrical test and development equipment (oscilloscopes, LCR meters, logic analyzers, power supplies)
  • Extensive knowledge in analog/digital circuit design, PCB design, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with sensor integration, FPGAs/CPLDs, and microcontrollers
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve PCB failures
  • Knowledge of radiofrequency energy generation and control
  • Understanding of IEC 60601 regulatory standards
  • Strategic thinking and ability to evaluate product risks and opportunities
  • Ability to bridge hardware/software engineering teams
