Principal Educator

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) merged to form Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), a new organisation focused on supporting the renewal and long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. PSD Scotland is a remote-friendly employer with staff based throughout Scotland, supporting flexible, office-based, and hybrid working arrangements.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative team delivering a complex, multi-faceted programme of work. You will lead and contribute to a variety of education and training activities within the NMAHP Directorate, reporting to the Head of Programme. Your role will focus on the successful delivery of the NMAHP Practice Education and pre-registration programme.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to co-develop innovative solutions, contribute to a culture of high performance and learning, and empower team members to excel. The role requires a nurturing style, the ability to influence relationships at all levels, and a commitment to PSD Scotland’s values and behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the NMAHP Practice Education and pre-registration programme.
• Contribute to education and training activities across the NMAHP Directorate.
• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including health, social care, education, independent and third sectors, further and higher education institutions, Scottish Government, regulators, and strategic service leads.
• Foster a culture of high performance, learning, and self-development within the team.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Organise and prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care, and compassion in all interactions.

Requirements

• A strong background and understanding of the delivery and performance enhancement/quality assurance of NMAHP pre-registration programmes.
• Experience of NMAHP educational programme leadership.
• Experience working in partnership with stakeholders from health, social care, education, independent and third sectors, including further and higher education institutions, Scottish Government, regulators, and strategic service leads.
• Experience working in an academic or practice education setting.
• Ability to build highly effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to work on your own initiative, organise and prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Tact and persuasion skills when dealing with others.

Schedule
