Principal Digital Verification Engineer
About the Role
Renesas is seeking a talented individual to develop digital sections of leading-edge memory data buffer chips for DDR5, DDR6, and beyond. This role focuses on memory interface products primarily used in datacenters for AI and cloud computing, delivering high bandwidth with low power consumption.
Responsibilities
- Verify DDR5 Data Buffer to meet functional and performance specifications.
- Integrate and test at system-level and block level using UVM methodology.
- Participate in feasibility studies.
- Support development of verification plans based on specifications.
- Assist in verification planning, maintenance, feature extraction, verification tests, coverage, and checker development.
- Develop efficient, reusable, state-of-the-art verification environments and testbench structures.
- Optimize solutions for reusability, performance, and ease of use.
- Identify and communicate improvements to ease verification or enhance design behavior.
- Support optimization of UVM-based testbenches.
- Take ownership of verification environments for assigned blocks and tools as an Expert User.
- Drive the memory interface products verification effort, including defining verification strategy, developing test plans, coverage, and executing tests.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to a team of verification engineers.
- Drive and quality control the creation of verification test plans.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure the design meets requirements and is testable.
- Identify and drive improvements to the verification process for quality and efficiency.
- Monitor coverage of design verification.
- Provide regular updates to management on verification status.
Requirements
- Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 8+ years of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience.
