Location: Chicago, Illinois | Job type: Contract | Work hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities
- Partners with architects and application development teams to evaluate new cloud services, features, and enhancements
- Determines secure patterns and configurations for cloud services
- Writes code, scripts, and templates to automate the provisioning and de-provisioning of cloud services using tools like Terraform and cloud provider APIs
- Ensures the security of cloud infrastructure
- Uses Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure the availability and resilience of public cloud hosted applications
- Provides technical consulting and expertise to application teams using public cloud services
- Manages public cloud environments
- Enhances automation and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Manages cloud development tools including CI/CD orchestration platforms, source code repositories, artifact repositories, code quality tools, etc.
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with Java, Go, Python, and other Object Oriented languages
- Experience in development using REST APIs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- A passion for growing skills and solving complex and challenging problems
- Experience in developing integration solutions and automation
- Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Vault, Jenkins/Concourse, Spring Boot
- Experience with Public Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
- Experience with Cloud Networking, Cloud Storage, Cloud Security
- Experience in Object Oriented and Service Oriented Architectures as well as Design Patterns
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of core Google Cloud Platform services
- In depth understanding of Kubernetes
- Understanding of and experience creating CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of TDD and automated unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Experience researching and prototyping new capabilities
- Experience using and administering Linux and Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with development tools such as Nexus, Artifactory, SonarQube, Git, SVN, Jira, etc.

$70 - 80 per hour
