Principal Developer, FX Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate low latency Java engineer to join our FX trading and related services team. The role involves developing and building complex applications, designing and supporting trading venues, and developing cloud-aware applications. You will also be responsible for identifying and delivering improvements in various areas such as cost savings, security, ease of use, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Closely working with architects and other team members to develop and build complex applications that meet the needs of FX engineering.
• Design, development, and ongoing support of trading venue.
• Develop automated processes to prevent, identify, and fix problems impacting service availability.
• Identify and deliver improvements across a broad range of areas such as cost savings, security, ease of use, & reliability.

Required Skills

• Strong Java programming skills and experience writing clean code.
• Data structures and Algorithms expertise.
• Expertise in concurrency and performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of system architecture and memory management.
• Proficient in profiling tools.
• Experience with specialized libraries and frameworks for low-latency applications.
• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP), network performance, and techniques for optimizing network communication.
• Proven track record of delivering goals.
• Knowledge & Experience of modern agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and automation of software testing, delivery, and infrastructure changes.
• Self-motivated and self-directed, able to work effectively in a globally distributed team, managing multiple priorities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to investigate complex issues spanning multiple technologies and drive to completion.

Career Stage

The anticipated base salary for this position is $147,500 - $245,900. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
