About the role

The Principal Demand & Supply Planning Consultant leads end-to-end demand, supply, and inventory planning engagements for mid-market clients. This role designs and implements planning frameworks, workflows, and tools to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory, and increase service levels while reducing working capital.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze supply chain data
  • Develop and validate planning models
  • Facilitate cross-functional S&OP and IBP discussions
  • Translate business needs into actionable planning and automation solutions
  • Collaborate with client leadership and internal technical teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and oversee execution
  • Ensure measurable impact and rapid time-to-value
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables
  • Coach client teams
  • Recommend continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and finance interfaces

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis, scenario modeling, and data-driven decision-making in demand and supply planning contexts
  • Expertise in planning disciplines such as demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and S&OP/IBP process design
  • Experience in financial planning, linking supply chain plans to financial targets, budgets, forecasts, and working capital optimization
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to executive and operational stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional alignment
  • Consulting capability, including client engagement, problem structuring, solution design, and delivery of high-impact, measurable outcomes
  • Background in supply chain, operations, or related fields; experience in mid-market or multi-site manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments is beneficial
  • Proficiency with planning and analytics tools (e.g., advanced Excel, ERP/MRP systems, planning software, BI tools) and familiarity with workflow automation concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS/ASCM, CSCMP) are an advantage
  • Able to work independently in a remote setting or on-site at the client's facility and manage multiple client engagements
