Principal Data Center Site Planner
About the role
Contributes to infrastructure planning to optimize Data Center capacity and support rack demand while monitoring for bottlenecks and recommending investment opportunities. Builds partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders for seamless coordination and updates across planning phases. Enhances scalability and efficiency by standardizing site design and capacity modeling, analyzing historical data for improvements. Translates evolving needs into scalable site plans aligned with global strategies, supports validation, and tracks implementation readiness. Integrates technical solutions across teams for effective execution, tracking risks and dependencies, and escalating issues to maintain progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to infrastructure planning to optimize capacity utilization and support projected rack demand.
- Monitors for potential bottlenecks and provides input on investment opportunities to improve infrastructure scalability and operational efficiency.
- Builds partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination across planning phases.
- Coordinates updates and status reporting across workstreams.
- Creates and implements governance processes and documentation.
- Enhances scalability and operational efficiency by standardizing site design elements and capacity modeling practices; contributes to specifications on tool development.
- Analyzes historical data to recommend improvements in scalability and operational efficiency.
- Translates evolving business and technical needs into scalable site plans, ensuring alignment with global data center strategies.
- Supports plan validation and tracks implementation readiness across multiple locations.
- Integrates technical solutions across functional teams to ensure effective and timely execution of site plans, holding to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) where applicable.
- Tracks risks and dependencies throughout deployment phases, escalating issues as needed to maintain alignment and progress.

- Manages and coordinates moderately complex tasks, monitoring timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion and adherence to requirements for a moderately-sized project or initiative.
- Efficiently delegates, monitors, and prioritizes work across multiple projects, providing technical oversight and adjusting plans to address shifts in resources or timelines.

Qualifications
- Certain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.
Pay
Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 - $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
