Principal Data Architect

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Data Architect to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space. This role will shape the enterprise data architecture behind AI and BI capabilities that support analytics consumption across the organization. You will define semantic models, ontologies, and cloud-native data patterns that improve how business teams discover, understand, and use data. The position partners closely with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to advance an AI-first approach to data delivery and modernization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $196,000 – $235,000 annually Responsibilities Establish strategic direction for the AI/BI ecosystem and semantic architecture Evangelize methodologies to improve business line adoption Partner with teams to shape AI-first data layers and modernize analytics Design ontologies and semantic models for intelligent data discovery Architect analytical models for diverse analytics use cases Lead cloud-native data architecture initiatives with Databricks Build AI-powered consumption solutions, including Text-to-SQL implementations Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 12+ years in enterprise data architecture, data engineering, or technology leadership roles Substantial experience with enterprise-grade AI/BI solutions in production settings Deep understanding of modern data architecture patterns and LLM-based applications Expertise in distributed computing technologies like Apache Spark and ETL/ELT frameworks Strong background in building semantic layers and enterprise ontologies for data consumption Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority Benefits 401(k) plan with matching contributions Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision Care Paid parental leave at 100% of salary Paid Time Off and Company Holidays Early access to earned wages through Daily Pay Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
