About the role
Join Cat Digital's Data Architecture & Solutioning team to design and evolve enterprise-scale data architecture that powers Caterpillar's digital ecosystem. You'll lead end-to-end solution architectures on Cat Digital's data platform, drive the creation of trusted interoperable data products, and partner with engineering and product teams to accelerate time-to-data-value for data consumers enabling applications, analytics, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-level data architecture deliverables to solve business problems.
- Review detailed data architecture deliverables to ensure they align with core philosophies, high-level architecture, and strategic direction for data solutions.
- Design data solutions which include system-to-system data flows, conceptual data models, and logical data models.
- Provide vision for target state data architecture and outline paths for transition to that target state.
- Lead the evaluation and deployment of new solutions to add or enhance existing data product capabilities.
- Participate in addressing business requirements for applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver digital and data solutions that meet business results.
Requirements
- Data Architecture: Extensive knowledge of processes, techniques and factors that affect data architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
- Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Extensive experience in effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Requirements Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- Target Architecture: Knowledge of target architecture; ability to develop the IT blueprint and roadmap while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.
Qualifications
- Extensive data modeling experience
- Experience designing/architecting cloud-based solutions (AWS or Azure)
- ETL knowledge preferred
- Snowflake knowledge preferred
- Semantic modeling experience preferred
Additional Details
This position requires the candidate to be in Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Visa sponsorship is not available with this position. This position will require up to 5% travel.
Pay
Pay Range $147,760.00 - $240,110.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
