Principal Data & Analytics Governance & Quality Analyst

About the Role

The Principal Data & Analytics Governance & Quality Analyst leads the development and implementation of the enterprise’s Data and Analytics Governance strategy and compliance for business and consumption layer data assets. As the primary data owner, you will ensure the integrity, quality, and fitness-for-purpose of the organization's critical data and analytics products. This role involves principal-level responsibility for developing and overseeing data governance strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will be accountable for the assessment, improvement, and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of the organization's foundational data and analytics products.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data governance councils and subcommittees, driving stewardship practices, policy adherence, and alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
• Facilitate governance discussions, consultations, and decision-making processes, leveraging strong communication and stakeholder management skills to resolve data-related challenges and enable organizational objectives.
• Apply knowledge of healthcare data, regulatory requirements, and data governance principles to support data quality, accountability, and effective use of enterprise data assets.
• Manage Data Asset Strategy & Roadmap (Data asset SME) reflecting their maturity and evolution of data assets to support new/ongoing business and analytic needs.
• Ensure data assets are governance & quality compliant across the asset lifecycle, providing assessments based on a data asset’s fitness for purpose, including defining data quality and governance needs, business rules, and identifying sensitivity conditions.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business capabilities addressed by data assets (their fitness for use) and ensure options for data sourcing and re-usability of assets to maximize/optimize usage of quality enterprise assets.
• Provide data and analytic consultation to business & analytics teams on data assets, data governance, and quality.
• Gather and maintain data glossary, definitions, data quality rules, and other business metadata for 2 or more foundational data domains.
• Identify efficiencies and address cataloging redundancies across multiple domains.
• Lead and define the approach needed to support data catalogs and quality monitoring for multiple domains by leveraging data profiling and analysis.
• Accountable for Data Asset launch, adoption, and training with Analytics Partners and users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required). In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a related field.

Qualifications

• Experience within the healthcare, health insurance, healthcare analytics, or regulated healthcare environment with knowledge of healthcare data domains, privacy requirements, and industry standards.
• Professional certifications or training in data governance, data management, analytics, healthcare informatics, project management, or related disciplines.

Pay

Salary range: $118,691.00 - $189,906.00. Starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience, training, specialized skill sets, licensure, certifications, and business/organizational needs.

Schedule

Hybrid Flex approach: Work in the office at least two days a week for collaboration and connection, with flexibility to work remotely. Remote Flex roles involve working virtually with a few in-office visits each year for meaningful moments. Onsite expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
