Responsibilities
- Legal Advice and Counsel
- Serve as one of the primary legal advisors for the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division.
- Identify and anticipate highly complex legal and/or other business issues.
- Serve as a key business partner and advisor to senior executives.
- Manage a wide variety of negotiations and transactions with unique IP and technology issues related to semiconductor and other hardware development, manufacturing and logistics, supply chain and procurement.
- Collaborate with specialists in trade, IP, and other CELA partners as needed to escalate and drive decisions.
- Solution Implementation and Process Improvement
- Develop and implement solutions that anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Manage and develop relationships with clients to create strategic and innovative solutions that address issues and achieve business objectives.
- Provide feedback and evaluate process improvements including the development and deployment of AI tooling that increases efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate Degree or international equivalent degree AND 4+ years' experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of IP and technology transactions; supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and procurement; and related counseling to executive business leaders.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
- Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience advising on and negotiating agreements for cutting-edge technology, including semiconductors.
- Ability to contribute effectively by working independently and efficiently on projects in a fast-paced environment while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to demonstrate sound and practical business judgement in ambiguous situations.
Pay
Microsoft’s typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $132,200 - $232,800 per year. For roles in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $165,800 - $248,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
