Principal Contracts Analyst
Lead high-impact procurement modernization initiatives, conduct advanced process analysis, develop strategic recommendations, and manage key project deliverables. Oversee the work of 182x-level analysts who support project implementation. This position is dedicated exclusively to modernization and process improvement, not routine procurement transaction processing.

Requirements
Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years of full-time professional-level analytical work in areas such as budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of the 182X Class series.
Substitution: A graduate degree (master’s or higher) in fields such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, or accounting may substitute for one (1) year of required experience. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years). Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
Desirable Qualifications
- 3+ years supporting procurement, sourcing, or vendor coordination
- 3+ years resolving customer or stakeholder issues with strong satisfaction outcomes
- 3+ years preparing clear reports, SOPs, or business documentation
- 3 years working with digital tools and learning new platforms quickly
- 3 years of experience with Power BI, data analysis, or tech implementation
