Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop a deep understanding of the project to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and inform the business of associated potential impacts.
- Develop mitigation strategies for major project risks to ensure project success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Provide ongoing colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement
- Regular site walks to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality will be required throughout the life of the project on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data center or colocation infrastructure either for a general contractor, colocation provider, or hyperscaler.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center operations, with a focus on mechanical or electrical systems operations, change management process, and integrated systems operations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.
- Strong understanding of data center operations, change management, and integrated systems operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
