Principal Construction Inspector

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
• Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
• Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
• PE license or NICET Levels I–III certifications preferred.
• Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
• Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

Pay

T&M Associates estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $80,000 - $103,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
