Job Details

  • Serve as the technical expert for casting, melting, and molten metal processes across multiple manufacturing locations.

  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts involving casting quality, metal recovery, process variability, and operational performance.

  • Develop and implement best practices to improve quality, productivity, recovery, and cost efficiency.

  • Partner with plant leadership, engineering, operations, quality, and R&D teams to solve critical manufacturing challenges.

  • Lead cross-functional technology and process improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze operational and production data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Support new technology evaluations and implementation of emerging casting and metallurgical processes.

  • Train and mentor engineers, metallurgists, and operations personnel.

  • Standardize technical practices and drive knowledge sharing across facilities.

  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting casting, metallurgy, molten metal processing, or manufacturing operations.

  • Experience with casting process optimization, defect reduction, root cause analysis, and process improvement.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in casting, molten metal processing, melting, recycling, or process metallurgy.

  • Experience with ingot, slab, billet, foundry, or other large-scale casting operations.

  • Background in metallurgical characterization, process modeling, simulation, or manufacturing technology development.

  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or large-scale manufacturing organizations.

  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement experience.
