Principal CAD Designer
Responsibilities
- Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as CAD, ProEngineer, Solidworks.
- Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
- Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure designs meet ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.
Technician Support Career Stream
- Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
- Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
- Might suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Expert knowledge within a specific discipline typically gained through extensive work experience and/or education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Machine Safety and Ergonomic Standards.
- Mechanism design and development experience using CAD (Creo or SolidWorks preferred).
- Practical experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication (Manual bending brake, shear, etc.).
- Practical experience in the manufacture of complex instruments.
- Experience in medical industry.
- Practical experience in Machining (Manual Mills, Lathes, etc.).
- Validation and process development experience.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hr
W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits.
ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
