The Principal Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for defining and scaling enterprise data foundations that power strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Defining the target-state architecture for enterprise data foundations, including data domains, source systems, data models, identity strategies, taxonomy, and semantic structures.
  2. Designing and establishing reusable semantic-layer strategies, metrics-as-code approaches, and governed analytics patterns across BI, analytics, and AI use cases.
  3. Developing standards for metric definitions, data governance, source-of-truth management, and certified data products across multiple business functions.
  4. Analyzing and modeling complex operational, customer, workforce, financial, and product data to uncover insights and improve decision-making.
  5. Partnering with engineering and analytics teams to guide implementation approaches while maintaining ownership of business architecture and data strategy.
  6. Leading strategic data initiatives related to AI enablement, customer intelligence, analytics modernization, and long-term roadmap planning.
  7. Evaluating analytics technologies, platforms, and tooling, providing recommendations on adoption strategies and investment decisions.
  8. Establishing quality, reliability, monitoring, and documentation standards for critical reporting and data products.
  9. Mentoring senior BI professionals, analysts, and analytics engineers by promoting technical excellence, scalable practices, and strong analytical standards.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, analytics engineering, or business intelligence leadership roles.
  • Proven experience owning or shaping large-scale, multi-system data environments with complex business domains.
  • Expert-level SQL skills and strong experience designing scalable data models and analytics architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of semantic-layer design, metrics governance, dimensional modeling, and reusable data-product strategies.
  • Experience developing data foundations that support AI systems, machine learning workflows, and natural-language analytics experiences.
  • Strong understanding of taxonomy management, identity resolution, governance frameworks, and source-of-truth strategies.
  • Experience working with analytics and data platforms such as Databricks, dbt, Snowflake, Tableau, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, finance, operations, sales, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence decisions through technical expertise, communication, and strategic thinking.
  • Experience mentoring senior-level BI, analytics, or data professionals.
  • Preferred experience in customer experience, customer operations, marketplace, or large-scale consumer data environments.
  • Familiarity with AI-ready data products, conversational analytics, and self-service intelligence platforms.
