Job Summary
We are seeking a Director/VP of Machine Learning/Computational Biology to join our dynamic team at Voyant Bio. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for advancing cutting-edge science, strong leadership experience in startups, and expertise in computational biology (genomics & microscopy) and machine learning.
About the Role
As the Director/VP of Machine Learning/Computational Biology, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced computational models to analyze complex biological data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including biologists, clinicians, and software engineers to drive innovation in cancer treatment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize machine learning algorithms to analyze genomic and imaging data for insights into immune cell interactions and cancer progression.
- Collaborate with scientists to interpret results and translate findings into actionable insights for clinical trials and product development.
- Lead a team of computational biologists and data scientists to ensure high-quality data analysis and model validation.
- Present research findings to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, genomics, and computational biology, and incorporate these into our research strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of developing and applying machine learning models to large-scale genomic and imaging datasets.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in computational biology and machine learning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Expertise in genomics, imaging, and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and ethical considerations in medical research.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
