About the Role

As a Principal, you will serve as the site-based leader of the school, responsible for implementing and managing policies, regulations, procedures, and the CSUSA curriculum to ensure all students have a safe learning environment and receive instruction that meets or exceeds CSUSA standards.
Responsibilities
- Develops and coordinates educational programs in accordance with CSUSA and state standards and guidelines.
- Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
- Leads school-level planning to ensure development, implementation, and evaluation of all school programs and activities.
- Supervises instructional programs, evaluates lesson plans, and observes classes regularly to encourage diverse instructional strategies.
- Requests and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional materials as required by CSUSA guidelines.
- Formulates student personnel policies within CSUSA guidelines.
- Approves and supervises extracurricular activities.
- Provides regular opportunities for students to celebrate success in instructional programs and extracurricular activities.
- Serves as Chief Administrator of School Plans, organizes, and directs implementation of all school activities.
- Works to achieve and sustain 100% of projected student enrollment capacity.
- Communicates regularly with parents, stakeholders, and community organizations, representing the school at events and functions.
- Maintains a professional rapport with students and staff.
- Operates the school within the approved budget, collaborates to manage resources, and monitors expenditures.
- Delegates authority to responsible personnel to assume responsibility for the school in the principal’s absence.
- Routinely tours the school to assess safety, observe instructional programs, document findings, and ensure follow-up on identified issues.
- Plans and directs building maintenance.
- Supervises all operations involving school management, including funds, payroll, purchases, inventories, and office operations.
- Ensures accuracy, timeliness, and secure maintenance of all required school reports, student and personnel records, attendance, and compliance documentation.
- Plans and supervises fire drills, emergency readiness programs, and ensures a safe school environment.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations and policies.
- Communicates regularly with supervisors about the needs, successes, and general operation of the school.
- Develops and manages schedules and procedures for supervision of students in non-classroom areas (arrival/dismissal, playgrounds, hallways, cafeterias).
- Manages and administers the CSUSA workers' compensation program.
- Follows policy for the school's abuse posting requirements.
- Adheres to statutory, regulatory, and CSUSA hiring guidelines, including background checks and employment verification.
- Motivates staff to achieve school objectives and is responsive to their workplace-related needs.
- Evaluates staff performance and provides ongoing feedback.
- Counsels staff on inappropriate behavior and policy violations.
- Maintains a productive and positive employee climate.
- Selects and hires school staff, including teachers and support staff, following all hiring guidelines.
- Confers with Board Members and responds appropriately to issues that arise.
- Articulates the school's vision, values, and goals, modeling those values consistently.
- Attends special events to recognize student achievement and participates in school-sponsored activities and athletic events.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (MA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Professional Certification in Educational Leadership for the applicable state.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience (school administration preferred) and/or training.
- Experience in student instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a school community toward improved academic achievement.
- Computer literacy skills; proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
