Principal Architect Performance Analysis and Modeling

The Role

d-Matrix is seeking a Principal Architect- Performance Analysis and Modeling to join our team. This role focuses on accelerating AI application performance at the intersection of hardware and software, particularly with emerging hardware technologies like DIMC, D2D, and 3D-DRAM, and emerging workloads such as multi-modal LLMs, CoT reasoning models, and video/audio-generation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the properties of emerging machine learning algorithms and workloads and identify functional and performance implications.
• Create analytical models to project performance on current and future generations of d-matrix hardware.
• Propose new Hardware and Software features to enable or accelerate these algorithms.

Requirements

• BSEE with 10+ years of industry experience or MSEE with 8+ years of industry experience.
• Strong grasp through academic or industry experience in multiple areas: computer architecture, hardware-software codesign, performance modeling, ML fundamentals (particularly DNNs).
• Programming fluency in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with developing analytical performance models, architecture simulators for performance analysis.
• Research background with publication record in top-tier architecture or machine learning venues (ISCA, MICRO, ASPLOS, HPCA, DAC, MLSys).

Skills

• Knowledge of emerging hardware technologies and workloads.
• Ability to develop analytical performance models and architecture simulators.
• Experience with ML fundamentals, particularly DNNs.
• Programming skills in C/C++ or Python.
• Research background in architecture or machine learning.
