About the role

The Principal Architect (CXOS) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Circles' SaaS platform. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual architecturally leads the development of the Circles-X Operating System (CXOS), ensuring it serves as a robust, scalable, and extensible foundation for the company's SaaS journey.

Responsibilities

  • Layout the platform architecture vision and strategy to build out the Circles-X Operating System (CXOS).
  • Derive the short-, medium- and long-term platform architectural roadmap with a robust/scalable architecture.
  • Continuous monitoring of the architectural vision, strategy, roadmap, KPIs/OKRs and reporting the RAG status to the senior management.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance, review and establish architectural principles to engineering and all stakeholders.
  • Produce validated comprehensive architectural documentation and make them readily available to engineering teams.
  • Ensure the architectural roadmap is fully aligned with the delivery plans.
  • Maintain the architectural designs to be viable both technically and commercially.
  • Responsible for resolving architectural limitations/issues with zero/minimal impact to the deliveries.
  • Proactively identify R&D needs to be competitive in the market and drive the execution of the same.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to bring out the best solution viable both technically and commercially.
  • Proactively identify deployment, performance and security issues by closely collaborating with DevOps/InfoSec/Perf and Scale teams.
  • Bring in industry best practices such as architectural auditing, quality gates, etc into the organization and come up with implementation plans.
  • Evaluation and approval of any 3rd party software needs by assessing various aspects such as stability, performance, cost, licensing, etc.
  • Hands-on involvement in at least one of the following technology stacks and frameworks - Spring Boot-Java, Go Lang.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience with a proven track record, 5+ years of experience in the capacity of a Principal/Senior Software Architect.
  • Degree/Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Telco domain experience and knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Complete understanding and experience of Microservices based architecture design patterns and strategies.
  • Domain Driven Design principles, Strategic and Tactical Software architecture patterns and anti patterns.
  • Evolutionary architecture Messaging design patterns and their relevant applications.
  • Strategies to handle exponential scale Cloud based development and deployment Cloud native engineering principals.
  • Testing strategies from TDD to BDD and their practical application SDLC activities (Analysis /Design/Development/Deploy).
  • Source Control Systems (GIT/SVN) CI /CD Pipelines Delivery methodologies (Scrum/Feature driven development, XPDatabases (RDBMS/NOSQL) Data engineering.
  • Strong communication and evangelizing skills.
  • Experience in collaboration with different stakeholders like vendors, product managers, developers.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in hyper growth startups would be an advantage.
