Principal Applications Engineer

About the role

This is a senior-level position in application/system engineering. Responsibilities include defining analog IC and module products, developing and debugging reference circuits internally and with strategic customers, writing datasheets and application/design notes, and providing application support and technical training.

Responsibilities

• Work with design engineers, field applications team, and marketing to define analog IC products in DC/DC converters, specifically in cloud computing power solutions for CPU, GPU, ASIC, and SOC.
• Define and design 48V DC/DC module products, including isolated and non-isolated topologies.
• Work with customer and field application team to provide total computing power solution.
• Develop application reference circuits and system-level power management solutions for Server and Cloud.
• Write datasheets, application notes, design notes, and papers in magazines and conferences to promote MPS products.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in switch-mode power supply designs, especially in multi-phase core power design or isolated topology.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• Fluent communication skills in English.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Prior experience in defining power management IC or power modules is highly preferred.

Qualifications

MSEE or higher required.

Pay

The base salary range for this position in California is $175,000 – $215,000, based on market location and factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related reasons.
