About the role

This position will lead a team of applications developers in enhancing the Department of Utilities' critical customer care and billing system, Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CC&B).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in providing support and complex innovative solutions to enhance the CC&B system.
  • Develop, configure, and support applications and systems to improve business processes.
  • Document system procedures and provide after-hours application support.
  • Support new enhancements and system/data reporting requirements.
  • Make recommendations for implementing new system modules to better support the organization's mission.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise business application system administration, software support, development, and documentation.
  • Experience managing and coordinating projects for all application functionality requirements, including system integration and software customizations.
  • Strong analytical and design techniques in developing new software or systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and train others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of six years progressively responsible professional experience in information technology, including at least three years at the advanced journey level.

  • Commonly used programming languages, databases, and operating systems on multiple hardware platforms.
  • Relational and distributed database technology.
  • Networks and communications.
  • Project management and planning tools.
  • Commercially available software, and application evaluation techniques.
  • Data modeling theory and methods.
  • Disaster planning and recovery techniques.
  • Debugging and error detection.
  • Applications development and structured analysis methods.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
