Principal Advisory Consultant - ServiceNow (CMA)
About the Role
The Principal Advisory Consultant - ServiceNow (CMA) provides executive-level architectural leadership across transformation programs, aligning business strategy, enterprise architecture, governance, delivery teams, and executive stakeholders around a unified implementation vision. This role partners with the sales account team and works directly with CDW clients to build trusted advisor relationships, understand business challenges, and recommend ServiceNow-based solutions that drive client business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales account team and work directly with CDW clients to build trusted advisor relationships at the executive level.
- Understand client business challenges and propose ServiceNow-based solutions to achieve business outcomes.
- Research current and emerging technologies, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and present to executive-level leadership.
- Perform business outcome assessments across multiple information system architectures.
- Prepare white papers and presentations for current and prospective clients on ServiceNow-based solutions.
- Present at CDW and industry forums to elevate CDW’s perception as an Advisory Services and Business Technology Consulting firm.
- Collaborate with CDW Practices and business partners to create high-level designs and architectures that achieve defined client business outcomes.
- Create and document architectures addressing client business vision, and coordinate assembly of client proposals and statements of work (SOW) for Advisory Services, Professional Services, and Managed Services.
- Identify and articulate a ServiceNow solution’s client business value proposition, including return on investment (ROI) and time to value (TTV).
- Articulate essential program management and organizational change management principles to both CDW sales team members and clients.
- Develop account prioritization and support strategies with management and sales teams to ensure long-term trusted relationships.
- Manage a pipeline for advisory and professional services.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key partners in the assigned area of responsibility (AOR).
- Develop and deliver a personal book of business for billable advisory services, typically in a program oversight capacity.
- Maintain and execute a professional development plan to enhance skills.
- Mentor ITS coworkers in applying consulting skills, experience, and knowledge for project design, analysis, and coordination.
- Handle administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, completing timecards and expense reports, and conducting client and AOR business reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related technology field from an accredited institution and 10+ years of consulting experience OR 14+ years of equivalent consulting experience.
- ServiceNow Certified Master Architect certification required.
- Experience with multiple global implementations.
- Extensive experience partnering with executive-level clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to apply deep technical expertise to business strategy through service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and business planning.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture, platform strategy, governance frameworks, and roadmap development to drive business and technology outcomes.
- Proven success leading strategic business consulting engagements and enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Track record of driving sales activities, sequencing client engagements, and delivering value-driven solutions to build trusted advisor relationships.
- Ability to communicate technical and strategic concepts effectively to diverse audiences, including executives, business leaders, and technical teams.
- Strong judgment and analytical skills to assess technical, operational, and business risks and make sound recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing and executing long-range project plans, strategic roadmaps, and delivery schedules for complex initiatives.
- Extensive expertise in ITSM, CSM, and source-to-pay, with the ability to lead workshops, engage C-level executives, and inspire developers.
- Capability to lead technical knowledge transfer, mentoring, and enablement activities for clients and internal teams.
- Strong leadership, delegation, team development, and personnel management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills for audiences ranging from small teams to executive leadership.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Expertise in technical writing, including architectural designs, strategic recommendations, governance frameworks, and executive-level documentation.
Pay
Pay range: $168,000 - $240,000 depending on experience and skill set. Annual bonus target subject to terms and conditions of the plan.
