Job Overview
Maximize the performance and growth of the Mercedes-Benz Vans USA Customer Services business by driving parts revenue opportunities through customer pay and wholesale, supporting new and pre-owned vehicle sales. Enhance customer satisfaction to foster retention and long-term brand loyalty. Ensure dealer partners are high-performing, profitable, well-trained, community-focused, and competitively positioned. Lead the implementation of policies, processes, and programs to execute MBUSA’s Van network strategy while achieving objectives defined by Sales, Parts, Services, Product, Engineering, Training, and Marketing teams. This role requires a balanced approach of onsite and virtual support, focusing on business development, long-term growth, and customer retention across all revenue streams.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Performance Consulting (75%):
- Field-based role with up to 75% travel, providing direct support to dealers for business development and performance improvements.
- Increase repair orders, vehicles serviced, parts sales, service contract sales, and customer retention.
- Collaborate with MBUSA teams to implement strategic initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealership management, operational teams, and vendor partners.
- Execute MBUSA’s strategic plans, guiding dealers through performance initiatives and process improvements.
- Provide expert guidance on service shop throughput, repair order volume, Express Service, Mobile Service, and customer experience.
- Analyze performance trends, interpret data, and consult dealers in real-time.
- Design and execute business plans to support MBUSA’s VAN parts sales, service contracts, and repair order goals.
- Identify training needs to improve shop throughput, expand service offerings, and enhance customer retention.
- Manage and track performance metrics and KPIs.
- Process Compliance (10%):
- Utilize MBUSA tools, methods, and policies to improve dealer performance and ensure success.
- Implement processes for long-term sustainability, business growth, and performance consistency.
- Maintain documentation of projects, onboarding efforts, and performance strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize standardized processes.
- Facility Management & Brand Compliance (5%):
- Ensure dealership facilities meet Mercedes-Benz brand standards.
- Assess and inspect dealership buildings, interiors, and exteriors for brand compliance.
- Provide training and guidance on facility-related processes and protocols.
- Align with Dealer Development Project Managers for facility upgrades and maintenance.
- New Dealer Onboarding (5%):
- Develop and execute a standardized new dealer onboarding process.
- Ensure new dealers are equipped with inventory, training, tools, and systems before opening.
- Support new dealers in maximizing their initial customer base and sales performance.
- Team/Cultural Development (5%):
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and transparency.
- Lead transformation projects to improve business and cultivate a forward-thinking environment.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Degree in Automotive Management, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Retail Operations, Statistics, Engineering, or related field preferred; or 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- 7+ years in Sales & Aftersales Retail/Wholesale operations, focusing on business development and service contract sales.
- 5+ years in the Automotive Service industry with a track record of driving dealer growth and profitability.
- Expertise in retail sales, aftersales, automotive repair processes, and engineering principles.
- Proven experience in quality management and process improvement in service operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in market research, data analysis, and performance metrics.
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership on business development strategies.
