Prime Air Sr. Maintenance Technician , Amazon Prime Air

About the role

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Senior Repair Technician who combines technical skills with a passion for maintaining machinery and aircraft. This person is responsible for all drone maintenance and routine service at the commercial operation location, ensuring the aircraft conforms to design and is in safe operating conditions. This candidate will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on their assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive time-based and condition-based maintenance activities
• Own fleet performance metrics
• Verify adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
• Manage fleet spare parts and inventory
• Train and mentor other Repair Technicians
• Assign shift roster and oversee Repair Technicians
• Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
• Follow detailed instructions outlined in technical manuals

Requirements

• 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
• Experience guiding, training, and mentoring others
• Experience with common business applications and tools (i.e. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
• Travel up to 25% of the time
• Can work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions, including working outside in outdoor temperatures and refrigerated environments
• Show a demonstrated record of good attendance and the ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience; experience guiding, training, and mentoring others; experience with common business applications and tools; can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach; travel up to 25% of the time; can work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions, including working outside in outdoor temperatures and refrigerated environments; show a demonstrated record of good attendance and the ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts
• Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of aviation industry experience; experience in installing sub-assemblies and assemblies while working to drawings or CAD files; experience in business communication skills; experience in Robotics and Manufacturing engineering

Skills

This role requires the ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach. This role requires the ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This role requires travel, up to 25% of the time.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
