Primary Counselor (Tuesday-Saturday)

Summary

National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House in Arlington, VA is hiring a full-time Counselor for their Adult Women's 3.1 Residential Program. The position requires a 60 credit Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, with the ability to become a Resident in Counselor or Supervisee in Social Work upon hire.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Saturday from 12pm-8pm. Saturdays can be from 9am-5pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions for clients - Coordinates all aspects of client treatment - Reviews and documents client data and medical history - Completes psychosocial assessments and entrance reviews - Maintains client records and progress notes - Contacts referral sources, family members, and other relevant parties - Ensures compliance with state licensure regulations - Documents client progression through levels and treatment plans - Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly reports - Develops and presents educational lectures - Facilitates treatment groups and family programs - Acts as an advocate for clients within the residential structure - Monitors client activities during sessions - Attends weekly staffing and clinical meetings - Records observations and maintains logs

Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field required (60 credits) - Licensure as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, or substance abuse treatment practitioner preferred - At least one year of experience in human services or substance abuse treatment - Knowledge of ASAM Criteria - Fluent proficiency in Spanish preferred
