Primary Care Veterinary Assistant or Technician

About the role

Wake Veterinary Medical Center in Raleigh is currently seeking a primary care veterinary assistant or technician to join their collaborative and compassionate team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments
• Administer medications and injections
• Prepare surgical equipment and assist with surgeries
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining records
• Provide patient care including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health
• Communicate effectively with clients about their pets' health and treatment plans

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for those who drive)

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license as a veterinary technician (preferred)
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Comfortable working with animals and handling medical equipment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
