About the Role

The Rowan-Virtua Regional Integrated Special Needs (RISN) Center at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a dedicated primary care physician for a full-time faculty position. RISN is a specialized program focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and other complex needs. This role emphasizes continuity of care, collaboration with behavioral health and specialty providers, and creating a supportive, accessible environment for patients and their families/caregivers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to caring for underserved and medically complex populations and experience working within an interprofessional, team-based model. Experience with individuals with IDD is preferred. This position is open to board-eligible or board-certified physicians in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

In addition to providing direct patient care, the selected candidate will play a key role in advancing RISN’s mission by participating in care coordination, supporting program development, and maintaining high standards of compassionate, high-quality care. Physicians in this role will also participate in shared on-call responsibilities to support continuity and access to care for the RISN patient population.

As a faculty member, the physician will have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and residents as part of Rowan-Virtua’s academic mission. Clinical responsibilities will take place across one or more RISN outpatient locations in Southern New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and other complex needs

Requirements

  • Valid New Jersey medical license
  • MD or DO degree
  • CDS license
  • DEA license
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Experience working with underserved and medically complex populations
  • Legally authorized to work in the US (university will not sponsor work visas for this position)

Pay

Annual base salary ranges (in compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act):

  • Instructor: $104,314 to $141,588
  • Assistant Professor: $127,390 to $173,118
  • Associate Professor: $151,201 to $205,484
  • Professor: $176,213 to $239,390

Placement within the range is determined by the candidate's qualifications, professional experience, and other factors.

Location

Our clinical campus is located in Southern New Jersey, within the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately eight miles from Center City Philadelphia, one hour from the Jersey Shore, an hour and a half from NYC, and two hours from Washington, DC.

This faculty appointment is tenure-eligible and may be granted upon successful completion of criteria listed in the Rowan-Virtua SOM Faculty Bylaws. Faculty rank (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) is pending review and recommendation by the Faculty Affairs Committee.
