About the Program
Optum Oregon is seeking final-year residents to join our Primary Care Physician Pathways Program, a unique mentorship and career development opportunity designed to support your transition from training into full-time practice. As part of the Physician Pathways Program, you'll secure your future Primary Care position with Optum before completing training while gaining early exposure to our practice, culture, physicians, and value-based care model.

What is the Physician Pathways Program?
This program is designed for physicians in their final year of residency or fellowship who have accepted a future Primary Care position with Optum. Participants remain in their training program while receiving mentorship, professional development, and financial support as they prepare for full-time practice. The program requires only 1-3 hours per month and does not interfere with training responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Secure your future Primary Care position with Optum before completing training.
- Receive a guaranteed salary during your final year of residency or fellowship.
- Eliminate the stress of conducting a job search during your final months of training.
- Receive mentorship from experienced physicians within your future practice.
- Gain exposure to Optum's value-based care model, population health initiatives, and the Quadruple Aim framework.
- Build relationships with future colleagues and gain insight into your future practice environment.
- Participate in a customized virtual program requiring only 1-3 hours per month.
Out-of-state applicants completing training are welcome to apply.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O.
- PGY3 or Chief Resident in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics Residency.
- Desire to practice outpatient primary care in Eugene, OR.
Pay
Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $40.00 - $60.00 per hour. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
