Primary Care Physician - Internal Medicine
Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is a multi-clinic network providing integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty, and referral services. About the role
Internal Medicine Primary Care Physicians deliver high-quality primary care to patients at Marin Community Clinics, consistent with their training and expertise in an ambulatory care setting. As a Primary Care Provider (PCP), you will manage an assigned patient panel and join our team at one of our Marin County locations.
Signing Bonus: $100k–$120k available for select applicants (specific program terms apply).
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel, consistent with specialty training and privileging.
- Deliver routine preventive care, acute and urgent care, and follow-up for chronic health conditions.
- Consult with mid-level practitioners at the clinic within your medical specialty.
- Participate in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Contribute to the direction and development of health care services as a member of the primary health care team.
- Work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year after a 90-day training period (compensation outlined in offer).
- Respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year after a 90-day training period (compensation outlined in offer).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising Medical Director.
Requirements
- Internal Medicine Doctor with 3–5 years of clinical experience, which may include residency in a directly related field.
- Valid and unrestricted California medical license issued by the Medical Board of California.
- Board certified or Board Eligible in specified medical specialty.
- Current DEA registration allowing prescription of controlled substances.
- Prior experience in an outpatient health care setting, preferably a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
- Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals.
Skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to see 18–22 patients per full 8-hour clinic day.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care delivery.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs, non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, and ability to prescribe dosages.
- Familiarity with community medical diagnostic and patient care services in your area of expertise.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to mentor, advise, and train clinical professionals, PAs/NPs, and students.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
