Primary Care Physician

Conviva Primary Care, a subsidiary of Humana Inc., is seeking a primary care physician for our clinic in Coral Ridge, Texas. You will take a hands-on approach, addressing patient needs inside the exam room while also understanding how social determinants of health affect outcomes. Our unique care model specializes in senior-focused primary care with a versatile approach.

About the role

This onsite, in-person role focuses on outpatient medicine, continuity of care, health maintenance, and disease prevention. Responsibilities include maintaining medical histories and records, referring patients to specialists as needed, and influencing department strategy. You will make decisions on moderately complex issues with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care with a focus on continuity of care
• Maintain accurate medical histories and records
• Refer patients to specialists as needed
• Influence department strategy and make decisions on complex issues
• Manage an established patient panel with longer authorized appointments (45 minutes)
• Spend 100% of clinical time on direct patient care, including patient-facing and related administrative tasks

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 40 scheduled weekly hours
• See 12–15 patients per day with opportunity for more time per patient

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
• Board certified or board eligible in Geriatric Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Valid, unrestricted medical license in the state of employment (or willingness to obtain)
• Current, unrestricted DEA license

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience
• 1+ years of experience managing a Medicare Advantage panel of patients
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and coverage
• Knowledge of HEDIS quality indicators
• Fluent in Spanish and English

Pay

The starting base pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) role is $255,000 – $298,500 per year. Pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, knowledge, experience, and education. This role is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
